Xiaomi Redmi 5A has been launched in India as ” Desh Ka Smartphone ” at ₹ 4999. However this is not the fixed price for the smartphone as it is limited to the first 5 million units only and that too for the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM ( storage ) variant. After that it will be sold at ₹5999 i.e a hike of ₹1000. Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be available at Flipkart and MI’s official website and stores on 7 December 2017 at 12pm. The 3GB RAM and 32 GB ROM will be sold at ₹6999 on the same day. Another notable aspect is that instead of ‘Made in China’ label all units will have a ‘Made in India’ label.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A has 5 inch 720p screen and comes with Snapdragon 425 processor that works on 1.4Ghz quad core. The GPU is Adreno 308. The two variants are 2GB RAM and 16 GB storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Both the variants comes with a dedicated microSD slot which means that the user can use two SIM cards as well as a memory card to expand memory up to 128GB. The rear camera is 13MP with an aperture of f/2.2 coupled with LED flash and PDAF while the front camera is 5MP with an aperture of f/2.0. The smartphone runs on 3000 mAh battery with 5V/1A charging. Redmi 5A doesn’t support fast charging. It is made out of Polycarbonate plastic which is a lightweight and high performance plastic. Proximity sensor, accelerometer and IR blaster as also supported by this ” Desh Ka Smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A has specifications quite similar to that of Xiaomi Redmi 4A. Redmi 4A has a little edge over Redmi 5A in terms of battery life with a 3120mAh one. The price of 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM is currently at ₹5999. The smartphone was launched in November 2016. As of now at ₹4999 , Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a can’t miss deal.
